Is establishing and challenging jurisdiction the correct approach if you have been ordered to appear before the court ?

Your question seems to borderline seeking for advice; which we cannot give (see: Rule 5 and the Forum Rule subheading on Advice).

However, we can say that it depends on whether there is cause for a jurisdictional challenge in your case. There weren’t sufficient details about your specific case for anyone to tell whether a jurisdictional challenge would be either meritorious or correct.
