First edition of Revised Statutes

Postby Dennisl » Wednesday March 11th, 2009 9:21 am MDT

Hello all...
Can anyone here point to a location on the web where someone could read the Revised Statutes that
passed the Congress in December of 1873 or maybe the Act of Congress itself. On the Century of Law page they present the version " the second edition".

The site you are looking for is Team Law’s Online resources. from there you scroll to near the bottom of the page and find the link to: Statutes at Large, 1789-1875. That will take you to the Statutes at Large page. Scroll down that page until you see: “Volume 18: 43rd, 1873-1875”. Directly under that link you will find the link to the document you inquired after “Part 1: Revised Statutes”.

Having said that please be aware that it is not our purpose to do such research work for you; rather we focus on helping people learn how to find such on their own through their own research; so, if the resource we focused in on here was not found linked on our site already, we may have simply pointed you to look in the Thomas Library for such information. Following that information would also get you where you needed to go but you would have had to do a bit more searching in that library to find what you wanted. Providing the links from our site simply helps you learn to use the resources Team Law provides more effectively.

We hope this information is helpful to you.
